    Trump ordered to pay $83.3 million in defamation case

    A jury has awarded an extra $83.3 million to former columnist E. Jean Carroll in her defamation case in opposition to former President Donald Trump.

    Carroll claimed the previous president broken her status by calling her a liar after she accused him of sexual assault.

    The decision was handed down by a seven-member jury, together with two girls, on Friday afternoon.

    Carroll's attorneys reportedly sought $24 million in damages and “an unusually excessive punitive award.”

    In Could, a separate jury awarded Carroll $5 million after discovering that Trump was not liable for the rape however was liable for sexually abusing Carroll after which defaming her by claiming she made it up.

    “I was often called a journalist and I had a column, and now I'm often called a liar, a cheat and a scumbag,” Carroll mentioned in her testimony.

    Trump's lawyer, Alina Habba, instructed jurors that Carroll was after fame and cash by accusing Trump of such allegations.

    “That is removed from over. we're simply getting began. #MAGA#TrumpDerangementSyndrome” wrote Habba on X.
