    Tributes paid to former Premier chief executive Peter Kerridge after death aged 63

    Peter Kerridge 1961-2024

    Media group Premier Christian has paid tribute to its former chief govt Peter Kerridge, who has died aged 63.

    Kerridge died of acute leukemia on Saturday. He’s survived by his spouse, Karen, and their two sons.

    He spent a few years at Premier, becoming a member of in 1996 as managing director when it was a small London-based Christian radio station getting ready to closure.

    His partnership with the late Premier pioneer David Heron is credited with turning the station round and he grew to become its CEO in 2004.

    His successor, Kevin Bennett, led the tributes: “Peter's vitality and drive have been key at completely different phases of Premier's historical past, both sustaining or taking the station to new heights.

    “I hope that Peter can be remembered as a person totally dedicated to the mission that God set for him. He by no means wavered as soon as he dedicated and tirelessly tried to unfold the excellent news of Jesus. Above all, he can be remembered for his coronary heart, his mission .” and his ministry.”

    Throughout his time on the helm, Kerridge pioneered the Premier.television video-on-demand and on-line streaming platform.

    After finding out theology at Oxford in 1986, he skilled for the Baptist ministry and started his radio profession at Metro Radio in Newcastle upon Tyne. He later grew to become supervisor of spiritual and neighborhood affairs at Essex Radio and helped launch ten17 FM in Harlow.

    Sandy Muirhead, Chairman of Premier Christian Media Belief, added: “Peter was a unprecedented colleague, entrepreneur and inspiration. His drive to advance Premier's mission was unparalleled and he can be deeply missed in our firm and past. His unwavering religion and devotion to the Lord was for actually inspiring us all.”

    Church buildings Collectively in England mentioned: “We’re deeply saddened to listen to of the loss of life of Peter Kerridge, a pioneer in Christian broadcasting and media. Our prayers are along with his household, buddies and colleagues at Premier. Could he relaxation in peace.”
