Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ed Markey is pushing laws that would stop church buildings from having armed safety.

The invoice, titled the Stopping Non-public Army Act of 2024, is co-sponsored by Senator Laphonza Butler (D-CA).

The textual content of the invoice prohibits “performing as a part of or on behalf of a personal paramilitary group and armed with a firearm, explosive or incendiary gadget or different harmful weapon.”

    Reported from Protestia:

A current Lifeway survey of Protestant pastors reveals that armed congregants shield greater than 50% of protestant church buildings. Whereas these safety preparations differ of their degree of sophistication on a church-by-church foundation, almost the identical variety of pastors who report using armed congregants report that there's an intentional plan in place to arrange for threats posed by an lively shooter. Although varied state and native legal guidelines at the moment regulate and restrict using hid carry weapons by church safety groups in varied locale, a proposed federal regulation would criminalize the preparations made by many armed church safety groups throughout the US.
