In highschool sports activities, issues can change in a rush.
That was evident final week for the Southwest Christian boys basketball staff.
The Stars entered the Class 2A, Part 5 playoffs on a three-game successful streak that included a 79-54 win in opposition to Blake.
That successful streak, mixed with an 18-8 season report, earned the Stars a No. 4 seed for the playoffs and a quarterfinal matchup in opposition to the No. 5 seed Blake Bears, a staff they defeated by 25 factors 10 days earlier.
The quarterfinal recreation was completely different as Blake ended Southwest Christian's season by defeating the Stars 81-66.
The sport was tied 35-35 at halftime and the Stars led 44-43 with slightly below 12 minutes left within the recreation.
From there, Blake went on a 17-4 run to take a 60-48 lead with seven minutes remaining.
The Stars reduce the result in 10, however that's as shut as they’d get as Blake would push their result in as many as 19 factors earlier than successful 81-66.
Brayden Beckering led the Stars with 21 factors within the loss. Mason Wooden added 12 factors.
Blake advances to the sectional semifinals in opposition to No. 1 Breck. The opposite semifinal will likely be between Minneapolis North and Holy Household.
The championship recreation is performed on Friday, March 15 on the College of Augsburg at 7 p.m
