MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – Cellular Christian baseball's state title hopes stay alive after edging Tallassee within the Class 5A quarterfinals Wednesday evening. The ninth-ranked Leopards gained the primary sport 7-1 and punched their ticket to the semifinals with a 13-1 victory within the second sport in 5 innings.
Cellular Christian will play the winner of the Valley and Holtville sequence subsequent week.

The Leopards offense took care of enterprise early within the second sport. The Leopards scored one run within the first, adopted by 5 runs within the second and third innings to take an 11-0 lead. Cellular Christian completed the evening with 15 hits. The protection was equally spectacular, permitting simply two runs within the sequence and 4 hits within the second sport.
“We knew these guys had been going to be good coming in. We knew they had been going to be a scrappy bunch and play onerous,” head coach Jason Smith stated. “The primary inning of the primary sport (we) actually set the tone. We carried out rather well in some conditions and it labored in our favor for the remainder of the sequence.”
The Leopards are an ideal 6-0 within the playoffs thus far with wins over Demopolis, Shelby County and Tallassee. Cellular Christian is outscoring its playoff opponents 66-16 within the first three rounds.
