    Lowndes Academy holds off Evangel Christian, advances to Final Four | Sports

    LOWNDESBORO – Lowndes Academy outscored Evangel Christian 12-4 within the fourth quarter to carry off the Lions 44-34 within the AISA Class A quarterfinals on the Lowndes Academy fitness center on Saturday evening.

    Lowndes Academy (15-4) advances to the AISA semifinals on the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl, the place the Rebels will face Banks Academy at 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

    Evangel Christian finishes the season 13-11.

    Evangel led 13-11 on the finish of the primary quarter and 23-22 on the half earlier than the Rebels rallied to take a 32-30 lead into the fourth quarter.

    Clayton Hussey led the Rebels with 17 factors, eight rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and two blocks. Zack Azar added 11 factors, seven rebounds and two blocks, adopted by Watters Field with 5 factors, 4 rebounds, two assists and 5 steals, Will Brassell with 5 factors, three rebounds and a steal, Pierson Hill with 4 factors, 11 rebounds. and two steals and Andrew Myers with two factors, a rebound and a steal.

    Tylon Shine had 9 factors for the Lions, adopted by Will McCord with eight, Jamar Nickerson and Quendarious Rudolph with six every and Andre Stoddard with 5.
