Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, recognized for her staunch assist of the “Make America Nice Once more” motion, confronted recent criticism this weekend after doubling down on her declare that “earthquakes and eclipses” are divine alerts for repentance.
Greene returned to social media platform X on Sunday after mocking her earlier publish that linked the 4.8 magnitude earthquake in New York and New Jersey to a name for repentance.
“Earthquakes and eclipses and lots of extra issues to come back, God is sending sturdy indicators to America to inform us to repent,” Greene tweeted Friday, referring to the upcoming photo voltaic eclipse deliberate for Monday.
In response to the backlash she obtained, Greene reiterated her stance on Sunday, acknowledging the mockery and referring to biblical texts.

One other consumer dismissed Greene's claims as “ridiculous” and urged her to give attention to legislative issues as a substitute of spreading “end-times rhetoric.”
“America is already divided,” the consumer added. “We don't want our elected leaders to assist this division.”
Greene, a vocal supporter of conservative causes, has usually courted controversy for her statements and actions since taking workplace.
