Mike Sweeney spent 16 seasons within the main leagues from 1995 to 2010. He was chosen by the Kansas Metropolis Royals within the 1991 MLB Draft, made his MLB debut in September 1995, and went on to spend 13 seasons in Kansas Metropolis, getting named to 5 All-Star groups.
After stints with the Oakland A’s, Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies, Sweeney signed a one-day contract to retire with Kansas Metropolis in 2011. 4 years later, he was inducted into the Kansas Metropolis Royals Corridor of Fame.
