    Former CofE vicar accused of historic abuse

    Jonathan Fletcher, the 81-year-old former vicar of Emmanuel Church Wimbledon, has been charged with eight counts of indecent assault and one rely of grievous bodily hurt with intent.

    The fees relate to alleged crimes allegedly dedicated between 1973 and 1999. Fletcher, who was a outstanding conservative evangelical chief, served at Emmanuel Church from 1982 till his retirement in 2012.

    The fees led to Fletcher being bailed to look at Kingston Crown Court docket on August 7.

    The Diocese of Southwark has supplied ongoing help to these affected and is cooperating with police investigations.

    Emmanuel Church Wimbledon stated in a press release, in keeping with the London Night Normal: “Now we have very not too long ago discovered that Jonathan Fletcher is being prosecuted for a sequence of historic offenses towards an grownup.
