    Faith leaders express “horror” at the unrest

    Religion leaders have written a joint letter condemning hate and violence after greater than per week of unrest in elements of the UK.

    In a joint letter Instancesexpressing “horror” on the violence and praising the individuals who volunteered to wash up the streets and restore injury of their communities.

    Religion leaders have known as the riots “a stain on our nationwide ethical conscience” and spoken of their dedication to a “constructive and compassionate” dialogue on immigration.

    The letter was signed by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Chief Imam and CEO of Ahlul Bayt Society of Scotland, Imam Dr Sayed Razawi and Chairman of Mosques and Nationwide Imams' Advisory Council, Imam Qari Asim.

    “Over the previous few days, now we have watched in horror as a small minority has introduced hatred, violence and vandalism to cities throughout the nation,” they write.

    “We have now seen anti-Muslim hatred and assaults on mosques, assaults on asylum seekers and refugees, violence towards police and personal property, all of that are a stain on our nationwide ethical conscience.

    “Each British citizen has a proper to respect and a duty to respect others in order that collectively we will construct a cohesive and harmonious society for all.

    “As religion leaders, we pay tribute to the many individuals who’ve stepped ahead to restore the injury and rebuild their neighborhoods. We’re dedicated to working with authorities and all elements of society for a constructive and compassionate dialogue on immigration and social cohesion.”

    Violence has affected many cities throughout England in addition to Belfast in Northern Eire. The Welsh First Minister mentioned Wales wouldn’t be complacent about the specter of violence spreading there, whereas in Scotland, which has additionally remained peaceable to date, Scottish First Minister John Swinney is assembly religion and neighborhood representatives this week.
