Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey will get baptized, declares he is ‘nothing with out Jesus’

Detroit Pistons followers are hoping the 2024-25 NBA season will probably be one wherein capturing guard Jaden Ivey catapults himself into the All-Star dialogue.
But earlier than the season even begins, the third-year professional out of Purdue has already been given a way more vital identifier: the signal of salvation via the sacrament of baptism.

Ivey revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that he was baptized this offseason, declaring that he’s “nothing with out Jesus” and citing the Bible verses James 1:17 and a couple of Corinthians 5:17.

Along with a photograph of Ivey clapping as he rose from the water, the 22-year-old additionally included photographs of his spouse, Caitlyn, and their two kids, Noah James and Shiloh Elizabeth. According to an Instagram post from Caitlyn, she too was baptized, and the baptisms occurred in June.
Caitlyn and Jaden had been each school athletes at Purdue, and so they each submit often on social media about their religion in Christ. “Jesus is King” writes Caitlyn in her Instagram bio, whereas Jaden writes that “Jesus is Lord” in his.
And regardless of his high-profile job within the NBA, Jaden hasn’t sought to cover his religion from reporters. He concluded a press convention in March by referencing the Bible verse John 14:6.
“First, I simply wish to say that Jesus is the best way, the reality, the life,” he said. “To anybody on the planet that’s listening to this message, the Kingdom of Heaven is close to. Jesus is coming again, and all of us need to repent for our sins and we’ve to place our religion in Jesus. He’ll come again while you least anticipate it, and it’s time to get up in case you haven’t put your religion in Jesus Christ.”
