“No matter you do, work at it with all of your coronary heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you recognize that you’ll obtain an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It’s the Lord Christ you might be serving.” — Colossians 3:23-24

I beloved taking part in sports activities whereas rising up. As my athletic skills improved, I loved the accolades I obtained from my mother and father, teammates, coaches and native newspapers. Being identified and accepted due to my efficiency on an athletic discipline was form of like a drug. I used to be on an emotional excessive when issues went effectively, however in a gutter when the efficiency was off. I wanted that “repair” every week, so I drove myself to be the perfect I could possibly be. I wasn’t a follower of Jesus, so all I knew was to carry out for others to realize their acceptance.

As a freshman in faculty, I used to be confronted with the Gospel and positioned my religion in Jesus. The campus director for the CRU ministry discipled me for the subsequent two years. I started to know who I used to be in Jesus and that I not wanted to carry out for others to realize their acceptance. I used to be beloved and accepted by Jesus, and that was all that mattered.

I learn Colossians 3:23-24 (above) in the future and it introduced a brand new freedom for me. I nonetheless beloved to compete, however I may play for a better goal. I may play for an viewers of One. As I meditated on these verses, I started to use them to every space of my life. The Lord made me a greater scholar, teammate, son, good friend and baseball participant. I joyfully started serving Jesus with every space of my life.

    For whom are you performing?
