“I attraction to you subsequently, brothers, by the mercies of God, to current your our bodies as a residing sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your religious worship. Don’t be conformed to this world, however be remodeled by the renewal of your thoughts, that by testing you could discern what’s the will of God, what is sweet and acceptable and ideal.” — Romans 12:1-2 (ESV)

Two of the primary verses I ever discovered to cite are present in Romans 12:1-2 (above). I particularly love how we’re inspired to current our our bodies “as a residing sacrifice” and the reason being as a result of that is our “religious worship.”

I used to be reminded of those verses on the primary day of summer season exercises this yr. As I used to be on the point of go away my home, I acquired a textual content from one among our receivers: “Pastor Scott, when , . It’s time for me to give up my life to the Lord.” After I completed praising the Lord, I replied that I might be on the facility quickly and we’d discuss after exercises.

I’ll always remember what he informed me after we met. “God has humbled me,” he mentioned. “For too lengthy I’ve held the pen of my life in my very own hand. It’s time for me to put the pen down and permit Him to jot down the story of my life.” With that, we bowed and this younger man prayed the sweetest prayer to obtain Christ as his private Savior.

“It’s time for me to put the pen down.” That sounds a lot like Romans 12:1. The primary act of worship in anybody’s life needs to be a surrendering of themselves to the Lord, giving Him full and complete management of their life as a type of religious worship.
