Daily Devotional: Tuesday, July 30 – Sudden Death

Sudden loss of life.

They’re two of the extra thrilling phrases in all of sports activities. Primarily, a sudden-death scenario is one by which two groups have performed to a tie and the subsequent rating wins. Whether or not you permit a winner or a loser, all of it rides on one play. Pressure is at its highest, competitors is at its fiercest, and followers are on the sting of their seats.

However what occurs in the event you don’t know you’re in a sudden-death scenario? It’s possible you’ll not give your all to chase a unfastened ball or defend your individual internet, pondering there’s time later to make it up.

Every part he had constructed up on earth could be wasted. It was a silly endeavor, similar to attempting to preserve your power in sudden loss of life. Accumulating earthly riches however ignoring his name to be “wealthy towards God” (Luke 12:21) would do the person completely no good when he stood earlier than God that night time.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t plan forward for years down the highway. I’m not saying it’s unsuitable to work onerous now to create a greater future for your self. What I’m saying is that it is best to by no means, ever sacrifice a thriving private relationship with God and His individuals now within the identify of future earthly consolation. That future could not even be there, and even whether it is, earthly consolation received’t in the end fulfill.

Don’t make the error Jesus talked about in Luke 12. If tonight your life is demanded from you, will God have discovered you storing up treasure for your self however not being wealthy towards Him?
