A volunteer policewoman is to be “rebuffed” after she wrongly advised a Christian singer on London's Oxford Road that she was not allowed to sing church songs exterior church grounds.
Harmonie London, who posts movies of her Christian road performances on YouTube, was accosted by an officer exterior a John Lewis division retailer as she sang worship songs to passers-by, GB Information studies.
The officer advised her, “No miss, by the best way you aren’t allowed to sing church songs exterior church grounds.”
When Harmonie corrected her, the officer insisted, saying she couldn’t sing worship songs “exterior church grounds until you might have permission from the church to do such songs.”
The communication between the officer and Harmonie was captured on video and the footage was uploaded to her YouTube channel.
The policewoman ultimately left, however not earlier than sticking her tongue out on the digicam.
Dedicated Christian and former Tory minister Ann Widdecombe advised GB Information the officer needs to be “faraway from the voluntary power”.
She mentioned there was “no foundation” for what the officer mentioned to Harmonie and that he had each proper to sing Christian songs on the street.
