    American Idol: Mississippi student wins unanimous with own song about sinful struggles

    A Mississippi highschool pupil wowed American Idol judges along with her voice as she sang an unique music about combating sin.

    “The songs that I write are about private issues, issues that I've been by means of, simply issues that I've witnessed,” 17-year-old Jennifer Jeffries mentioned through the Sunday, March 3, episode. “I write them so folks can join. with them and know they're not alone as a result of there's quite a bit occurring in your life, a number of ache, however a number of pleasure.     In response, the judges shared how impressed they had been by Jeffries' voice.

    “I wasn't anticipating that voice,” Bryan mentioned, noting that it was the primary time the judges had heard a voice that was “amazingly distinctive.”

    “What I'm in love with is your uniqueness,” Richie instructed Jeffries.

    Perry identified that Jeffries has “a novel grittiness … it's so Mississippi.”

    Bryan described the younger singer's voice as “the voice of an indie film soundtrack”, whereas Perry mentioned “It's so uncooked”. She added, “I can hear that diamond within the tough.”

    The pop star additionally requested Jeffries if “Jennifer Jeffries” is her actual title. When Jeffries responded within the affirmative, Perry mentioned, “The names will not be a coincidence. That's your soul proper there, and your soul named you a star.”

    She subsequently gave her sure to Jeffries going to Hollywood, adopted by Richie and Bryan.
