    Archbishop “has no intention of resigning” over John Smyth's failings

    The Archbishop of Canterbury has “no intention of resigning” regardless of calls from influential clergy to fail to cope with the John Smyth abuse scandal following a damning report.

    The Makin Overview, printed final week, accused the Church of England of a “cover-up” of abuse dedicated by Smyth, who died in 2018.
