    Most school leaders do not agree with the collective worship law

    A brand new survey has discovered that almost all of faculty leaders are against a authorized requirement to carry collective worship in colleges in England.

    In keeping with a survey of two,000 main and secondary college leaders throughout the nation, practically three-quarters (70%) disagree or strongly disagree.

    The present legislation requires colleges to carry every day collective worship and states that it have to be “wholly or predominantly broadly Christian in character”.

    Just one in 10 (12%) leaders have been in favor of the present legislation requiring collective worship.

    The info comes from a survey of lecturers by Tapp on behalf of the Nationwide Secular Society, and was launched alongside yet-to-be-released information from a 2022 survey through which two-thirds of lecturers mentioned their college doesn’t maintain collective worship.

    This rose to greater than three-quarters (79%) of lecturers from non-religious colleges and 84% amongst secondary college lecturers. The 2022 survey requested the views of seven,600 college lecturers.
